Should I?

Day 1 of 31 at Two Writing Teachers!

March is here.

So busy.

Too busy?

But I could make time.

I could finally conquer the art of the short post.

Make time for what's important.

Be a model for my students.

So tired.

Too tired?

But writing refuels me.

Feeling those words run and scamper

across my mind, through my fingers, out

into the world.

Watching, listening, noticing every delicious detail:

living like a writer.

Writing what I live.

So stressed.

Too stressed?

But longing for connection and encouragement.

Remembering comments, slices, moments,

built with words and through screens

across miles

and even seas.

I could just

skip it.

a better year.

So much going on,

in my life

and all

But so many reasons to dive in!

to tradition

to determination and persistence

to community

to life and memories

to a piece of myself.

March is here.

So glad to see you all. <3

  1. Love that you pushed through. Love your format and that "determination and persistence

to community" will help guide you!

  2. Love all the reasons to dive in! Welcome back.

  3. The way you crafted this poem, jumping between the internal voices that haunt us all, made my whole day. Your final stanza where you raise your glass to tradition, perseverance, community and more capture the essence of this experience. Thanks for sharing your writing with us!

  4. Yay! What a celebration! I love that your words bounce from right to left and end with a toast of sorts. My favorite line: "noticing every delicious detail." I can relate to the doubt and the draw of March. It reminds me of a post I heard on Brene Brown's podcast with the author of Atomic Habits who says that some days, showing up to the gym is enough; it proves you are the kind of person who leads a healthy life. You showed up and gave it more than a few reps! Well done!

  5. I am cheering you on from the sidelines!

Comments make me happy and I'd love to hear from YOU! :-)
